There was this matronly who asked me how I could tell beforehand how things will look in a BW photograph. I told her I can almost "see" in black and white. In fact, and in all honesty, I said, "I see YOU in black and white right now." And I did. Kinda freaky. My rods hold sway over my cones, I guess. I’m the same way, to my detriment sometimes. When i photograph things i have to force myself to take some in color because i love B/W. In my eyes black & whites focus more on shapes and contrasts which just awwww me. i am such a fan of B/W pictures.
